Texas & Tampa Bay (Ballparks 4, 5, & 6)

We were able to knock-out 3 more Ballparks the weekend of June 14-16. We flew down to Dallas on the 14th. My Aunt Cheryl got some amazing Rangers tickets at an auction and she and my uncle were able to join us for the game. We were in the second row right by the Rangers' dugout. And Nolan Ryan was sitting in front of us! I really liked the Rangers' stadium. It was a bit hot but not too bad. Unfortunately, the rain followed us to Texas, and we had to leave the seats due to rain at one point during the game.

The view from our seats. The man in black is Nolan Ryan!

Unfortunately, the Rangers didn't win the game, but we all had a great time. There was also a great fireworks show after the game.

The next morning we decided to check out George W. Bush's Presidential Library before we left for Houston. The Library had lots of interesting exhibits about W's Presidency. There was also a replica of the Oval Office where you could take pictures.

I think I'd make a good Commander in Chief :)

We all really enjoyed visiting the Library. We then had time to eat lunch at one of our favorite Dallas Tex Mex Restaurants: The Blue Goose. After that, we said goodbye to the Seagers and were off to Houston! Houston's stadium is a dome, so I wasn't too sure that I was going to like it. I ended up really enjoying it, though. The stadium was beautiful! It didn't hurt that we had Club level seats; I love Club level seats! And the outfield wall was all windows, which made it feel more open. The dome has a retractable roof, but it was closed during the game. It was pretty hot outside, so it was probably a good thing that the dome was closed.

There was Chick-Fil-A stuff everywhere!

more Chick-Fil-A

They were giving these away, so of course I had to get one!

Another selfie.
We both really enjoyed Houston's stadium, and the Astros beat the White Sox, so the Houston fans were happy. We stayed in Houston for the night and then flew to Tampa Bay Sunday morning. Tampa Bay also has a dome, a very old dome, a dome without a retractable roof, a dome without any windows. To me it felt like we were in a cage watching a baseball game; I was not a fan. I did like their Team Store, though. It was big with lots of cool stuff! There also seemed to be lots of cool stuff for kids to do around the concourse. One weird thing was that the Rays seemed to have like 5 different mascots, none of which was an actual Ray (at least that I saw). I saw a dog and a cat and some guy that was supposed to be a sunbeam or something. Another weird thing was that the bullpens were on the first and third baselines-not in the outfield. We were sitting right near the Tampa Bay bullpen. There was also a Ted Williams Museum at the park. Ted Williams is my Dad's favorite player, so he was very excited for the museum. There were lots of interesting things in the museum; we both enjoyed it.

Sea dogs. It was Father's Day, so the main sea dog's dad and grandpa were there.

It was a great Father's Day weekend!
